At HRCS we are proud to be able to offer a variety of different after school activities beyond our athletics program. Please take a look at the list below for information regarding all of our Beyond the Bell activities. Please note that all of the HRCS clubs need parent volunteers to help supervise. Volunteers must be Virtus trained.

Book Club…..Holy Rosary Catholic School is offering a Book Club to students in 5th through eighth grades. The club will meet after school from 3:15 to 4:00 in the Jr. High Library. Mrs. Amy Sopchak is the club’s supervisor. As with all of our activities parent volunteers are welcome to help with these club meetings. Adults must be Virtus Trained. Please indicate below if you would be interested in assisting.

Chess Club…..Chess club is open to students in grades 3 through 8 and will meet every Monday from 3:15 to 4:15.  A calendar will be given at the first meeting . Students will learn the basics of chess, chess openings, strategy for the mid and end games, and pair off to play chess. Mr. Matt Gubbels is the supervisor.

Choir…..Choir is open to students in grades 3 through 8 and will meet every Wednesday from 3:15 until 4:15 in the music room. Students will sing for Veteran's Day and Christmas programs and a spring concert at the end of the year. Choir will start on September 14th.

Computer Club…..Computer Club is open to anyone in grades 3 through 5. The club sponsor is Andrea Salerno. Activities will include: minecraft, practicing typing skills; Microsoft Word, Paint, Power Point and Publisher for projects and activi-ties; using ipads/tablets for projects and activities; online subscriptions to practice Math, Spelling and Listening skills.

LEGO Club...Students in grades 1 - 5 are invited to join LEGO Club. Builders will meet in the Library & Media Center in the middle school building 3:15-4:15. Participants are asked to donate new or used LEGOs to the club. Family members may help supervise LEGO Club meetings to complete volunteer hours. Volunteers must attend Virtus training and must register in the school office prior to each meeting. Please direct questions and concerns to Sheila Healey (949)374-8882 shealey@holyrosary-school.org. LEGO Club will meet on certain Fridays.

Cub Scouts...Pack 1583, open to boys in grades 1 - 5, meets on the third Tuesday of the month in the school cafeteria at 7pm. A calendar will be given at the first meeting & a schedule for each individual den will be determined by the parents in that den. Boys will work on their den specific adventures and can participate in various Pack level activities including: hiking, camping, community service, pine car derby, etc. Our Cubmaster is Phil Anders & Webelos Den Leader is Rhonda Taormina. Girl Scouts...HRCS sponsors Troop 3033, which is open to girls in Kindergarten through 8th grades. The troop will meet after school from 3:15-4:30 on designated Fridays in the Media Center. A calendar will be given at the first meeting on this Friday the 26th. Girls will earn badges and participate in crafts, games, outdoor activities, and songs. Age-appropriate activities are offered for Daisies (K–1st), Brownies (2nd–3rd), Juniors (4th-5th) & Cadettes (6th-8th). Mrs. Suzanne Krusleski, Mrs. Patricia Redding, Mrs. Stacey Hall & Mrs. Ann Valdez are the troop leaders.

TOTS Basketball Program...We are happy to offer TOTS basketball to our Pre-K 3 to Kinder students. Sessions will be on Tuesdays starting in September. This is a year long program. Visit www.teamsoftomorrow.com/katy to register.
